UDiscovering to highlight learning programs at Autism Awareness Day celebration

Learning programs that aim to help parents, educators and health care providers teaching and caring for children with autism and other disabilities will be showcased by UDiscovering, a UMass Medical School online portal, at the school’s International Autism Awareness Day celebration on April 2.

Evidence-based online instruction from UDiscovering on display during the 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. providers fair at the Albert Sherman Center will include:

Discovering Behavioral Intervention: A Parent's Interactive Guide to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), a 10-module course designed to help parents of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) understand the fundamentals of behavioral intervention so that they may better participate in treatment decisions, evaluate outcomes, and conduct interventions.

Learning ABA!, an innovative program aimed at training paraprofessionals who work with children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) the fundamental knowledge and skills in behavioral intervention methods by simulating interactions with an onscreen child.
