Individual Education Plan (IEP)

The individual education program (IEP) is a written for a child with a disability that is developed jointly by the parents and school staff. It is a blueprint for teaching the child and is based on the information about the child taken from the screening and diagnostic testing. The IEP includes goals, accommodations and services for the child, and is implemented by classroom teachers with the help of special educators and related service professionals. The IEP is a legal document described in the Individuals with Disabilities Act.
