Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

Applied behavior analysis, or ABA, is well known for its highly successful methods of teaching new skills to children on the autism spectrum, and for understanding and treating challenging behaviors. ABA is backed by substantial scientific research, which means that most of its procedures have been tested and are strongly evidence-based. There are many methods and procedures that fall under the umbrella of ABA. Procedures are based on the careful use of incentives and rewards to motivate change. This is called positive reinforcement, and it is at the heart of all ABA interventions.
